The journal accepts new members from the rising second and third-year classes.
Any interested student must write a brief paper, (one or two pages). It must be on one of the following topic options:
- Answer this question: Should college athletes be paid outside of scholarships for school?
- Create your own topic: Pick an emerging issue in sports law and write your position.
Executive board members will score applications based on both writing ability and creativity. There will be no Bluebook exercise because the journal will host a Bluebook workshop in the fall. All members must attend this workshop in order to take part.
The number of candidates selected varies annually.
